Ashtanga Yoga Workshops


Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga Workshop (6 Week Course)

A 6 week course in learning the technique to the foundation of the Ashtanga practice. During the 5 weekday classes to follow the one day detailed workshop, participants will receive focused attention and hands-on adjustments giving them the foundation to build on ones yoga practice correctly and with strength and understanding. No specific fitness level is required as the participant will be encouraged to work within their abilities. This is a great place to start if you have experience in a softer form of hatha yoga.

This session is followed by 5 Wednesday evening classes @6.30-7.30pm (for dates please send email to info[a]theyogaloft.be) to work the techniques learned at a slower pace focusing on posture. This is perfect for a beginner to Ashtanga or a person looking to review postures and placement.

Primary Series Workshop

A 3 hour Saturday workshop where students can gain a deeper understanding to their yoga practice. This workshop focuses on the philosophy, language and practical knowledge of yoga. Asanas (or postures) will be covered in step by step detail so the student can understand where they should be and what they can work for in each asana. Students will leave with knowledge to enhance their practice in or out of class. Highly recommended for those practicing Primary Series or wishing to.

Vinyasa II Series Workshop

The natural evolution to the Introduction to Ashtanga workshop, the Advancing Your Ashtanga Practice Workshop Series works with the principles of Vinyasa II classes within the Yoga Loft. The workshop will look at deepening your practice to poses and how poses relate to your specific body and needs. It brings fun and variation to your practice while working more muscle areas deeper.

This will greatly help you during your entire yoga practice as flows become lighter, easier and more fluid, offering you more focused concentration on other aspects of your practice such as breathing or meditation. This workshop series will challenge you and at the same time enhance your mental and physical body in amazing ways – not to be skipped :)!

Vinyasa II Series Day Workshop

During the 6-week course including the one-day detailed workshop, participants will receive focused attention and hands-on adjustments and modifications, giving you the foundation to build on your own yoga practice correctly and with strength and understanding. This is a great workshop if you have been practicing MPS for 6 months, have a Vinyasa or Full Primary Ashtanga Practice.

Chidren's Yoga Stage

Children are natural yogis, with unending wonder, a desire for knowledge, untainted ability to live each day to the fullest, day-by-day, and their physical flexibility. Through yoga, children can gain all the same benefits of yoga as adults, in a fun, warm environment. Learning poses through English animal names and fun. Breath meditation teaches children to deepen and slow down their breath and become calm and inwardly focused. It is a valuable skill that they can utilize their entire lives. Stages are available during most school breaks. Let the ancient world of yoga open up and become fun, accessible and beneficial for your little yogi!

Yoga Retreat

The Loft's Yoga Retreats offer beautiful weekend get-aways nearby Brussels, or weeklong getaways to other European destinations. The retreats offer various yogic themes. This year's weekend retreat theme is on enhancing joyfulness, relaxation and honoring your full self. Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training

The Yoga Loft is committed to building an Ashtanga Yoga community in Brussels, and a part of that is offering students an opportunity to enrich their own practice or follow their own path to becoming a facilitator of the yoga practice.  

This path is unique, satisfying, and a self-discovery journey. Our mission is to provide each yoga teacher in our training the foundation to teach skillfully with compassion, safety, and integrity while honoring your own voice.

The training will combine Ashtanga Vinyasa flow with an emphasis on alignment, awareness and skillful sequencing. Understanding of body positioning, dristi, and modifications are key in this training for meeting the needs of the average yoga student.

We complement this essential framework of asana with in-depth study of anatomy, and the Yoga Sutras as well as other principles of yoga, such as  Ayurveda. Learn to teach as you deepen your practice, develop lifelong friendships, and have a life-altering experience.
